The Lamb Is Its Light

I have enjoyed seeing the photos that many of you posted of the SpaceX Rocket. The jellyfish-like blue image was fascinating. I can fully imagine how exciting it was for those who watched it with their own eyes. I had such an experience when I was twelve years old.

My Dad had arranged for us to be admitted to the viewing area of one of the Apollo night launches at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. There was a buzz of excitement in the air as the crowd gathered to watch this historic event. Finally, it was time. We heard the countdown. Then the mighty sounds of the rockets roaring in our ears. The earth trembled beneath our feet while fire shot out all around the base of the launchpad. Then…lift-off. Suddenly, the black of night became as bright as the noonday sun. We all looked around at each other, smiling, happy in this awesome phenonema of night becoming day.

However, as amazing as the Apollo launch was, there is another, more spectacular than ever event, of night becoming day. This light will be for eternity. It takes place just after the Millennial Reign of Christ.

The Tribulation will end with the arrival of Jesus returning to earth to set up His kingdom for 1000 years. When the thousand year reign ends, the terribly sad Great White Throne Judgment will take place, which separates Chrisitans from non Christians for eternity. Finally, when the judgement is over, the New Heaven and The New Earth become the forever home of every child of God. Look at Revelation 21:23 NIV, The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.

This event, yet to come, will overshadow the Apollo launches and SpaceX with its glorious, eternal illumination. Just imagine, no more darkness. I hope you expereince it. Anyone can enter this place of eternal light because Jesus died to pay for our sins which is what separates us from God’s holinesss. His holiness cannot accept sin. Therefore, Jesus willingly became sin for us, dying on the cross a cruel death, paying the penalty of our sin that we may be set free. It’s a gift that must be received. If you have not received His gift of forgiveness, with promise of eternal life in Heaven, where no sun or moon is needed to give light, then please do so today because no one is promised tomorrow. If you die without Jesus, then you die to eternal darkrness. He loves you so very much, no matter what you have ever done. Ask Jesus to come into your life today. He will cleanse you and make you whiter than snow (Isaiah 1:18). He will give you peace and joy and purpose such as you have never known.

I hope to see you in the New Heaven where it’s always day because — the Lamb is its light.
